Summertime scrapbook layouts

So in case you haven't noticed, it's been slightly more than just a couple of days since I promised to upload some layouts in "a couple of days", lol.
We went on vacation and I've just been super lazy since we got back. Now summer is just about over and we go back to school in less than a week.

Without further ado, here ya go :)

Hagan this past Halloween. He wasn't very
cooperative for pictures and this is the best I got. 

Nothing special...just wanted to note that I punched
each of those little arrow/chevron pieces and glued
them on one at a time...it felt like it took forever!

Coordinations cardstock...lightly sanded with a
template underneath to get the design to show through. 

I push the STAMPENDOUS FRAN'TAGE embossing
enamel every chance I get...and it's pretty obvious why, right?
The color variation in this title is right out of the little jar. I believe
the color is "chunky metallic". 

This layout just did not photograph well...it's much brighter
in person and more sparkly.

The hair dryer is a cut file from *Silhouette Design Studio
I used a glitter embossing powder for the blue tip
and I used an EK success punch for the "ric rac"
lines. 

The Minnie Mouse shape was purchased from
*VectorKitchen on Etsy.

The circles were made from a Minnie Mouse duct tape
I had. I just adhered it to some cardstock and used a punch
to cut the circle and then used a larger circle to "mat" it. 

My favorite part of this layout are the "subjects" I
created using the ever trusty label maker. I think they were
the perfect embellishment and yet they blend right in.

I used "shaved ice" for the snow...I'm pretty sure it's
Stampendous but I'd have to check to be certain.

Title is a cut file from *Silhouette Design Studio

This one is much prettier in person. The title is again
from *Silhouette Design Studio*
I made all the flowers and used lots of Goosebumps Spray
as well as Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.
The doilies are from *Wild Orchid Crafts*

You can see the Goosebumps spray here...I love that stuff!

Title for this one is a combination of another
Silhouette Design Studio file and some Echo Park
stickers. I embossed the word "joy" with clear
embossing powder and also embossed the #loveyou 

Pulled embellishments from several different
manufacturers 

I used a chunky yellow glitter for the sun and it's
covered much better than it appears in the photo.
I also mixed a small amount of texture paste with
just a smidgeon of yellow acrylic paint and then
used a Tim Holtz template for the design.

Summer life

Random thoughts...separated to make reading less painful, lol.


I realized this morning that I've been MIA the entire summer. I wish I could say it's because I've had a crazy busy summer filled with summer stuff, or home projects and maybe even hours and hours of scrapbooking. But, it's really none of the above. I've just been lazy this summer!! And I've been loving it! I've stayed up late almost every night watching Netflix and sleeping in until 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. I've done a little scrapping but not a lot. It's the life I dream of  all throughout the school year when my alarm is going off at 5:00 a.m

This week I've been down with the stomach virus from HELL...and I mean that literally. I'm pretty sure Satan himself spewed that crap (pun intended) from the deepest darkest bowels of hell itself. Day 4 and feeling a little better today. It's early yet so we'll see.

Never got my back deck built...gave up on that.

We're suppose to be leaving for vacation next Friday. I'm excited but I admit that the anxiety I feel at leaving home and the kids is pretty much stealing my happiness. I need to get a grip on that or I'll never be able to enjoy the trip.

Garrett moved out a couple months ago and I finally decided to make the extra room into a scrapbook room. It's just a jumbled mess and it's taken me a few weeks to adjust (HA! I'm totally lying,..I have not adjusted yet!) but it's a room that's separate from my bedroom and all my scrapbook/craft stuff is in here as well as my computer. I didn't even paint the walls so they're still a bluish gray but I'll get to that eventually.  It's a small room so not a lot of extra room...I have it crammed in pretty tight, lol. But it's a scrapbook room and that's a good thing!

Debated for several weeks about getting my hair cut and finally took the plunge a couple of weeks ago. It's different having short hair but for the most part I love it. It's actually still a little too long because it bugs my neck, but Tim isn't keen on my going any shorter. It's right at the base of my neck now.

I have a few scrapbook layouts I need to share but not today. Today, you get a couple of pictures of some pretty darned adorable puppies. Remember how tiny these guys were when I first shared photos of them? They are 14 weeks old tomorrow and look what a difference!

****pardon the trash in the floor...they got into the trash can beside my scrapbook desk. They were definitely being typical puppies yesterday when I took these pictures!!
****I was also actually moving some stuff around which is why the cube storage shelf is backwards and my purse is rarely left in the floor like that.

These flowers are some OLD Prima flowers
from my stash...I love digging out old stuff and
using it on layouts!

I used some embossing powder and scattered it
randomly to add sparkle and interest.

All flowers on this one are handmade by me :)

Trees and puppies, oh my!

Hey y'all! Just thought I'd post a quick update since it's been awhile. Nothing exciting has happened home-wise since the floors. Oh, except I planted a tree!! Oh my!! We might have a real actual tree in the yard in a few years, lol.
We're fairly limited on planting trees in the front yard because of the water/phone/electric lines which kinda stinks. But, hey, I do love our little piece of America so I'll deal.

It's a Mulberry tree so let's all keep our fingers crossed
that it flourishes and we have berries sometime down the
road :) 

Oh lawsy, pardon the high grass...the weedeater is broken AGAIN.
We looked at some at Lowe's on Saturday but you guys know my
frugal husband by now, lol. At least he's looking...that's always the
first step with him.

OHHH...we also have PUPPIES :) 8 of the most adorable precious puppies that have ever been born. For real. I've never been a huge dog lover because I felt like they were just too much trouble and I had kids to raise. But, after weeks and weeks of warning the boys to not get attached because we weren't keeping ANY of the puppies, "I" am the one whose heart is breaking at the thought of letting any of them go. I have one picked out to keep and another that has relentlessly latched onto my heartstrings ((sigh)). Not sure what to do about that yet...I guess we'll just see if I'm strong enough to let her go.

There's my youngest son and the puppy we're definitely
keeping taking a nap a couple of days ago. Sam woke up to
see what that clicking light was, lol. Isn't he absolutely adorable???

Other than that we've just been living the life and doing our thing.
The school year is winding down (hallelujah) and we have only 10 school days left until summer vacation.

I've been getting some scrapbooking done and I have several layouts I need to photograph and get posted.
